On Tuesday 3rd March, the Garden Challenge was launched at ALNS.
9 students are taking part in the Garden Challenge with adult mentors (community allotment holder, caretaker, teachers, support staff, catering manager & Andrew Beecher), and are competing to win a 7″ Android Tablet donated by Novatech.
What is the competition about?
The Garden Challenge is an opportunity for students to showcase their love of food.
Starting on 3rd March each entrant will have a one meter square plot on which to grow produce over the summer season finishing on 21st July 2015.
Using their skills and imagination they will cook and prepare dishes using the products they have grown.
Each garden will be photographed regularly to record the success of the plot and to showcase any dishes made using the produce.
Each student can have an adult mentor (family, friend, teacher, support staff or School Governor) to collaborate with them.
