Portsmouth University have invited 10 students from ALNS to attend their ‘Girls into STEM’ day on Tuesday 23rd June 2015.
This event is for girls in Year 9 and is designed to give them a taste of STEM subjects at University and beyond. Over the course of the day, pupils will meet inspirational role models and take part in two interactive sessions run by academics from the University. They will also have the opportunity to attend an inspirational workshop about STEM careers and ask current students about their course and experiences.
In Universities across the UK, the ratio of male students studying STEM subjects far exceeds the number of female students. The University of Portsmouth are keen to provide girls with a specific opportunity to find out more about STEM subjects so that they are able to make an informed decision in the future.
If you are a girl in Year 9 and are interested in attending this event please see Mrs Ramsey in Science.
