Every year the year 11s go on an incredible citizenship trip to the beautiful city of Paris, and once again this year the trip was a great success. On a chilly October night, about 150 of us were outside school, excitedly waiting for the coaches to pick us up. When they arrived we got on each loading our backpacks ready to go.
At about 11pm we are boarding the ferry, each one of us keen to see the cabins we would be staying in. Everyone was bustling and noisy as you can well imagine but we knew that in about five hours we would be ready to go to Paris! At about 6am we were all ready to get off the boat and go to Paris.
When we arrived we had a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower, one of the most incredible structures in the world. We had a great year group photo and then we walked right underneath the tower. We couldn’t believe how tall it was close up! After visiting the souvenir shops we headed back to the coaches towards the Notre Dame for lunch in a French restaurant. The streets were bustling with great stores and cafes and everyone was eager to explore. Then we headed to the Sacré-Cœur, a beautiful cathedral with a fantastic view of the city. There was a great atmosphere with music from the buskers and fantastic street artists.
Unfortunately though the day just went too quickly and we were heading back to the coaches for our ferry home. Everyone was absolutely exhausted by the time we were in our cabins and before long we arrived home at 8am with fantastic memories from a brilliant trip.
