RRSA Week 2016

RRSA WeekThe 9th-13th May is Rights Respecting week at ALNS.

During this week students across the school will have the opportunity to put specific rights into practice with a range of events and activities taking place across throughout the  curriculum. All students should be hearing about the Rights of the Child in all of their lessons as they learn about the UNCRC (click here to view the UNCRC)

As well as all lessons focusing on the charter on Thursday evening (12th May)  we will be clearly focused on ARTICLE 29: Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full and ARTICLE 31: The right to take part in a wide range of cultural activities. As we present ADMIRALS GOT TALENT to raise money for UNICEF.

Also Friday 13th May is UNICEFs all important “Day for Change” http://www.unicef.org.uk/fundraise/fundraise-in-your-community/at-school/day-for-change/

We will have a non-uniform day to support this.

As we complete our journey towards becoming a Level 2 Rights Respecting School it is vital that our young people KNOW THEIR RIGHTS.

Do you?
