Year 9 Students – 14th November 2016
15 Year 9 students went to Southampton University to take part in a variety of workshops along with other schools to investigate post 16 options and understanding the importance of GCSE’s when selecting their options later in the academic year. The day started with a presentation by UNLOC followed by a Science Masterclass – a group from ALNS won the Challenge which was to design a boat hull that could carry the most cargo, judges were particularly impressed with their loading techniques. In the afternoon students worked as one large group to put together a Presentation on ‘Transferable skills’ and applying these to Career Pathways, working as a large group was a challenge that our students managed amongst themselves very effectively
Thank you to Southampton University and the student ambassadors.
