Back in July ALNS became a Global Learning Expert Centre. We were recognised by the Global Learning Programme as having so much to offer other schools that we should become Portsmouth’s centre of excellence for Global Learning and “spread the word.” We were invited to become a centre due to our work with the UNCRC and being a Rights Respecting Level 2 school and because we do so much Global Learning within our school, this includes all our international visits, PD Days, the PD Programme and so much more.
On Friday 13th October I had the amazing opportunity to present at the Global Learning Expert Centre conference in London and tell all the other schools and leaders all about ALNS and what we do.
I led a workshop all about how to become a Rights Respecting Level 2 school using ALNS as a case study. It was intimidating talking to so many teachers about what we do but a fantastic experience. Lots of them want to come and visit ALNS and develop their work with the UNCRC and Rights Respecting Schools. The day was tweeted about all day with ALNS being mentioned a few times!
It is always a privilege to be able to talk about the fabulous staff at ALNS and how we all work to ensure our young people are true ‘Global citizens’ and share the things we do with others.
