On Tuesday 21st November, the English Department was thrilled to welcome Stewart Foster, award winning author of ‘The Bubble Boy’ and ‘All the Things That Could Go Wrong’, to ALNS.
Stewart spent an hour with 30 Year 8 students discussing his novels; the writing process; how he managed to be resilient and bounce back from rejection and the themes in his stories, which include bullying and coping with illness. Students had opportunities to ask lots of questions and take part in some workshop style thought-provoking activities.
Stewart was then available to sign book and chat to all students throughout second break, when many students from all year groups came to buy books and many students who had previously read and enjoyed one of Stewart’s books came to chat to him about the stories and characters.
We were so happy to see so many students enjoying the opportunity to meet a successful author and look forward to welcoming more popular authors to ALNS in the future!
