Last month the Computing Club competed against other schools to see who had the best young engineers. Students competed using their brains and two Lego Mindstorm’s kits that were kindly donated to us by AIRBUS. The competition was broken down into several categories; Speed Challenge, Team Work, Research Presentation and the Robotics Rescue Challenge. The Robotics Rescue challenge required teams to make a robot that could climb up a steep hill, follows a black line, collects two engines, open a door, and tow a Lego aircraft plus much more!
The competition was fierce and ultimately we didn’t make it to the finals but there is always next year! In preparation for the next Computing Club we will be creating our own battling robots on Thursday evenings to better our skills.
If making robots that you can programme to fight sounds like fun come along then please come along!
