Yesterday as part of the Teach Portsmouth Week (a city-wide event celebrating teaching) our Year 10 Music class were very lucky to have ex-student Billy Gregory join them and lead an afternoon of songwriting. Billy, who studied songwriting at university and is pursuing a career in music, shared his expertise and passion, inspiring our students as they wrote melodies and lyrics to tracks composed by Billy. Some students were so inspired they actually composed their own tracks!
During the afternoon we were joined by Councillor Suzy Horton who observed our students fully engaged in the session and motivated by Billy’s enthusiasm and skills.
It’s always lovely to see an ex-student pursue their passion and to return to ALNS to generously share this with our students.
