Today as part of the Teach Portsmouth Week (a city-wide event celebrating teaching) Our amazing triple science pupils were set the task of researching, planning and delivering a Science-related story from the news to their peers. Given the freedom to research any relevant aspect of Biology, Chemistry or Physics, the topics varied from recently discovered evidence for a new planet in our solar system to the last breakthroughs in treatments for cancer.
The triple scientists then presented their research to their tutor groups and answered any questions in a very professional way. We chose to set this task as it is similar in structure to a PhD Viva, were the candidate would conduct their own research and then present their findings in order to obtain and qualifications. The Year 11 students were amazing and held their fellow students enthralled with their fabulous knowledge.
