School arrangements in the event of severe weather
In the unlikely event of heavy snow this winter, we would like to inform you of the school’s procedures.
If severe weather overnight means that the school is closed the next day, there are several ways that we will let you know.
- By the website: a weather update will be posted by 7.00am on each morning during any period of severe weather
- By email and text from the school. Please ensure that you log into Insight to inform us if your email, mobile or home phone numbers have changed; alternatively, you can use the ‘contact us’ button on the website. The number registered with the school is the number we use to contact you
- By local radio – BBC Solent, The Breeze, Heart, Wave 105 FM are all contacted if the school has to close and there are regular ‘Snow Closure updates’ broadcast on these stations. Please note that the radio stations do not always have the most up-to-date information and it is always best to check for text updates or refer to the school website first.
- Posted on the Hampshire Council website – https://www.hants.gov.uk/education/schoolclosures/
If the school has to close during a school day owing to severe weather, we will contact you directly by email and text on the number you have provided.
