On Thursday 9th May, we were delighted to have Nadhim Zahawi, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Education visit Admiral Lord Nelson School. The minister chose to visit our school to learn more about our inclusive ethos and especially keen to see how we support students with a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND). He was so impressed with all of the students and staff that he met and thoroughly enjoyed being in their lessons, talking to them about their learning and their opinions on what makes excellent education in schools.
I was incredibly proud to showcase our school to the minister and to our local Portsmouth Leaders of Education, including Suzy Horton, Cabinet Member for Education. Both Nadhim Zahawi and Suzy Horton both used the word ‘inspiring’ on twitter to describe our staff and students here at Admiral Lord Nelson School …. thoroughly deserved national recognition for their hard work here every day!
Dare to Dream, Aim to Achieve!
