Government advises schools and colleges to cancel overseas trips

One of the most amazing things our students get to experience in school is travel. The ability to travel internationally, to experience different languages, cultures and geography is a rich and rewarding experience.

As you can imagine, these trips require extensive planning and support to succeed. Unfortunately, this year we are faced with a global challenge with the outbreak of COVID-19. The situation around the world is complex, rapidly changing and impacting us all.

The latest measures announced as part of the Government’s coronavirus response is that all schools and colleges are being advised against all overseas trips for children under 18 until further notice:

We will of course follow all government advice.

Parents will undoubtedly have questions regarding refunds and at the present time we can only advise you that we are working closely with the travel providers to review the insurance policy to seek clarity about their response. We will communicate directly with affected students and families when we have further information.

The advice does not apply to trips planned within the UK (other than the England international football match) but we will be closely following Government advice and guidance. We will, of course, keep you updated when we have further information.
