Updated Health advice for children and families – COVID-19

We hope that you and your families are well during these unprecedented times. The wellbeing of your children remains a key priority for us during this time of closure. With that in mind we have attached several important information documents that we would like you to take the time to read.

The first document is a helpful national one page summary of guidance helping you to determine when to call the GP, NHS 111 or go to the Accident and Emergency Department. It is really important that you still seek medical help and guidance for your child throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

The second attachment is a letter to parents and carers from Solent NHS Trust confirming that routine home visiting, child health clinics and telephone contacts are being reduced on a temporary basis but also emphasising that parents can and should continue to make contact if they need to discuss any concerns about their child’s health and development.

The final document is from Portsmouth City Council offering local parenting telephone “surgeries” with details how they you can seek that support should it be required.

We hope you find this helpful.
