We have had some very exciting news from the Arts Council of Great Britain. Admiral Lord Nelson School is now a TRIPLE PLATINUM Artsmark school. This is an amazing achievement for our school and we are delighted.

The report from the Arts Council says:
“Admiral Lord Nelson school has developed strategic goals which have shifted from enabling and maintaining high quality arts learning, to additionally championing and leading on the value of the Arts in education in the local area.

You strongly champion creative approaches to teaching and learning across the curriculum and ensure all your staff have the skills and confidence necessary to feel they can facilitate expressive and imaginative learning day to day.
Becoming a Rights Respecting UNICEF Gold school has given you new opportunities to explore arts-based learning within global contexts and one notable project involved the creation of an original theatre piece based on reflections from local refugee children. You take your leadership and ambassadorial responsibilities seriously and are proud to be assisting a number of local (and not so local) schools with their own Artsmark journeys.
Your response to the Covid pandemic has been largely to move resources for arts activities and creative learning online and you are sharing these practices via teacher forums.
Winning Creative School of the Year award from the TES is a fitting accolade to your ongoing success and it is gratifying to see how big a part Artsmark has played in that process.“

We feel exceptionally proud of our wonderful staff, students and parents who continue to support the Arts and very much look forward to being able to share performances and art work with you again in the near future.
