Holocaust Memorial Day

Today is National Holocaust Memorial when we reflect and remember those lives that have been lost and affected by genocide throughout history around the world. January 27th was selected as it is the day Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated at the end of WW2. However it is a day we must remember all victims of genocide.

The theme this year is Light the Darkness which especially relevant as we are all impacted by COVID 19 and everything feels a little darker so we must also remember that this too will end.

Please think about those people who are also facing genocide today; The Uighur Muslims in China, The Rohingya in Myanmar and also the Palestinian people too. There are many more such as the on going conflict in Yemen where we are seeing a horrific amount of suffering and  loss of life as the result of actions by both the Saudi and Yemeni governments. This on top of a global pandemic.
