On Monday 23rd April 4 students once again headed to a CoPs meeting to represent the views of all ALNS students. This time we were at Portsmouth Grammar School with about 50 students representing secondary schools from the city to share ideas and demonstrate true Student Voice in action.
The day started with ice breakers and games followed by an update from the leaders of the action groups which included our own Etta Seymour who leads the LBGTQ group. The students then broke into their action groups to share updates and talk about things going on within their own schools.
Sarah Christopher from Portsmouth City Council came to talk to the students about what schools have to do to keep students safe and what changes are really achievable by students.
As always ALNS students were keen to make to make their contributions and ideas heard and be part of some of the best student voice opportunities in the country. Students are now looking forward to final celebration event of the year at the UTC in June.
