Year 10 Students Help Develop App

App DevelopmentBP (British Petroleum) and ‘Everywoman’ – a global women’s network who produce products and services to advance women in business, are working to launch an app called Modern Muse aimed at helping young women explore future career opportunities, be advised by Muses – women mentors already in those roles, and in some cases offer work experience.

BP are currently the key sponsors as they are extremely keen to encourage young women into STEM subjects.

App DevelopmentThe App is due to launch later this year and ALNS were asked to take part in a focus group study to ascertain young womens’ views on the app, the name of it and the design feastures.
6 Year 10 students gave their own time to take part in this focus group where they were shown the design for the app and were given open opportunities to discuss whether they would use the app, what would encourage them to do so and how they feel it should look to appeal to other girls their age.

During the session they created a design board which will be presented back to the app developers.
