ALNS is awarded Artsmark Gold!
We are delighted to announce that Admiral Lord Nelson School have been awarded the Artsmark Gold Award by the Arts Council England for our commitment to embedding arts, culture and creativity across our whole school.
'Admiral Lord Nelson School has used this Artsmark journey to develop your arts facilities, including revamping your music spaces and a new lighting system for performances. You have continued to embed creativity across your curriculum and transitioned your performing arts department with new staff and a new structure for September 2024. Senior leaders drive and develop arts and cultural teaching and learning for all groups of students. You have an Arts Governor who monitors provision. You are piloting a scheme for students to work with professionals in the Performing Arts industries. Through the Student Ambassador programme and Production Team students are given ownership of their creative use of the arts. Their voice has impact and influence within the school and they act as coaches for learning in the arts through work with your feeder primary schools. You have had a focus on making the Performing Arts department’s activities inclusive for students with SEND and ensuring you have equitable access to the arts, including offering free instrument lessons.'
